Thailand’s world-famous coffee chain Café Amazon launches in Bashundhara

A landmark partnership set to redefine Bangladesh’s café culture and create new opportunities for young entrepreneurs

Thailand’s world-famous coffee chain, Café Amazon, has officially launched its commercial operations in Bangladesh.

Bashundhara Group, one of Bangladesh’s leading business conglomerates, in partnership with PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (PTT OR), Thailand, officially launched Café Amazon Bangladesh, introducing Thailand’s No.1 coffee chain to one of South Asia’s fastest-growing consumer markets.

Under the overall supervision of the Bashundhara Group, the first phase of the grand inauguration ceremony was held at 11:30am on Thursday (6 August) at Café Amazon’s flagship store in the Bashundhara Residential Area of the capital.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Chairman of the Anvir Bashundhara Group (ABG); Ahmed Ibrahim Sobhan, Managing Director (MD) of the Tanvir Bashundhara Group (TBG); Thitiporn Chirasawadi, Ambassador, Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka; Anusorn Kautipvittaya, Minister Counsellor (Commercial), Royal Thai Embassy; Pojjana Paniangvait, president of the Hungarian-Thai Chamber of Commerce.

The second phase of the inauguration will be held at Bashundhara City Shopping Mall at 3:00pm on Thursday.
The event, open to the public and coffee enthusiasts, will feature traditional Thai cultural performances and entertainment programmes.
